Hundreds of families have had their primary breadwinner detained. At Delaney Hall, we provide assistance by offering free groceries and gift cards to support families experiencing food insecurity when they visit.
ICE apprehends individuals from across the mid-Atlantic region and detains them at Delaney Hall in Newark. Families often drive for hours for the opportunity of a one-hour visit. Food4NJ.org steps in to provide assistance by packing bags of groceries and distributing grocery store gift cards to families as they leave the detention center after their visit. Additionally, other groups are present to offer refreshments, advice, and support for needy families. Our goal is to establish a network of 400 partners who can donate groceries and contribute $10 a month to provide hope and assistance to these families.
There is a growing need to provide transportation when loved ones visit Delaney Hall and when people are released.
