Delaney Hall in Newark, NJ is a 1,000-bed detention facility operated by The GEO Group under contract with ICE. GEO signed a 15-year agreement valued at roughly $1 billion to reopen and manage the center. The facility, located on Doremus Avenue, is part of ICE’s network of privately run detention sites.
Here is what we put in the grocery bags on a typcial week:
- 1 bag of rice
- 1 box of pasta
- 1 box of cereal OR oatmeal
- 1 jar of pasta sauce (not the same as the cans of tomato sauce)
- 1 bag/can of beans
- 1 bag/can of a different kind of beans (should have garbanzo, pinto, kidney etc available)
- 1 can of corn
- 1 can of tomato sauce (not the same as the pasta sauce)
- 1 jar of peanut butter or nutella
- 2 cans of tuna
- 1 sachet of bouillon (1 sachet has 3 packets)
- 1 bag of instant potatoes
- 1 bag of baby carrots
- 1 bag of english muffins
